Mr. Random is a utility useful
for filling a portable MP3 audio player with music randomly selected from a
larger collection situated on a computer hard drive. This is a good idea if
you can't make up your mind what you want to hear, you prefer to be surprised
by a selection of music you may not have heard in a while, or want to hear
familiar music juxtaposed in novel combinations.
Mr. Randomis a Java
application, so it can be run on any computer with a Java Runtime Environment
version 6.0. It is also allows the look and feel to be changed by
selecting different themes.

- Upcoming Release
A new release is almost ready to go. The major new
feature is the cover browser. If you have saved a CD cover image
in each file directory, you can browse through them and select random
tunes by clicking on the cover image, just like flipping through the actual
CD cases. Here is a video of the browser in action.
Other than that there is a new (modal) progress dialog that
won't get hidden behind the main window, option for numbering tracks on
the device (for those players who like to impose alphabetical order and don't
respect playlists), and some bug fixes.
